The team is responsible for taking products like Fury (unmanned fighter jet) and Barracuda (air-breathing cruise missile) from concept to product. The team also develops Lattice for Mission Autonomy, Anduril’s premier software platform that enables masses of Fury, Barracuda, and other first and third party robots to collaborate across various missions. We work in close coordination with specialist teams like Perception, Motion Planning, Hardware, and Test Engineering to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers.We're seeking Software Engineers to build the core Command and Control software for our Lattice platform. This team is responsible for bridging the gap between hardware and human operators. Our software runs both on the vehicles managing real-time telemetry, health, and autopilot tasks and on the Ground Control Station enabling operators to plan missions, visualize maps, manage massive fleets, and orchestrate complex autonomous behaviors. We are also pioneering the integration of GenAI agents into our systems, allowing operators to direct autonomous assets using natural language interfaces. This is a highly autonomous role where you will build, ship, and see your code run on physical hardware deployed in the world.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSDesign and implement consensus protocols (Raft, CRDT, or others) that keep a fleet of autonomous vehicles converging on shared truth over lossy, contested linksBuild the next generation of distributed teaming state: replicated mission data, leader election, and conflict resolution across dozens of nodes with no guaranteed central authoritySupport bothstrong consensus and eventual consistency depending on real-world latency and partition constraintsOwn the failure semantics when partitioned vehicles rejoin the teamEligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearanceBS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.3+ years of production-grade C++ and/or Rust experience in a Linux development environmentExperience building software solutions involving significant amounts of data processing and analysisAbility to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code basesA desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impactTravel up to 30% of time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real worldPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSStrong background with focus in Physics, Mathematics, and/or Motion Planning to inform modeling & simulation (M&S) and physical systemsDeveloping and testing multi-agent autonomous systems and deploying in real-world environments.Feature and algorithm development with an understanding of behavior trees.Developing software/hardware for flight systems and safety critical functionality.Distributed communication networks and message standardsKnowledge of military systems and operational tacticsUS Salary Range$166,000—$220,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
