Job Description

The Legends Country Club is seeking a full-time Assistant-in-Training (AIT) to join our Agronomy team in Eureka, MO. This is a hands-on, career-building opportunity for someone looking to grow in golf course maintenance, turf management, and agronomy operations .

As an Assistant-in-Training, you’ll be fully immersed in the day-to-day operations of maintaining a high-level private golf course. You’ll work directly with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent , gaining real-world experience and leadership exposure while helping deliver exceptional course conditions for our members and guests.

What You’ll Do

• Operate turf maintenance equipment (greens mowers, fairway mowers, tee mowers, rough mowers, rollers, bunker rakes, topdressers, etc.)

• Assist with hand watering and daily course conditioning tasks

• Apply fertilizers and pesticides in accordance with safety and agronomic standards

• Support irrigation system audits, maintenance, and repairs

• Assist in managing small crews and daily task execution

• Maintain course presentation standards across all playing surfaces

• Work closely with leadership to learn systems, processes, and agronomy best practices

What We’re Looking For

• Interest in golf course maintenance, turf management, or landscaping

• Golf course or landscaping experience preferred

• Leadership experience or interest in team development is a plus

• Strong work ethic and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Detail-oriented with pride in producing high-quality results

• Dependable, coachable, and eager to learn

Compensation & Benefits

• $17 – $20 per hour (based on experience)

The Legends Country Club is a premier 27-hole private golf facility located in Eureka, Missouri and owned by Heritage Golf Group.

Originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. , the club opened in 1988 with 18 holes, followed by the Ridge 9 designed by Gary Kern in 1994. Recent multi-phase renovations include:

• Full greens and bunker renovation (2022) featuring Predator bentgrass greens and Better Billy Bunkers
• Ridge course bunker renovations completed in 2024
