Drilling Engineer

Drilling engineers apply hands-on expertise in drilling operations, well planning, and energy data systems to help evaluate and improve AI-generated content for energy industry workflows. Role Overview

This ongoing, project-based hourly contract engagement supports AI research by creating expert-level training data and assessing AI responses for accuracy and relevance. No prior AI experience is required.

• Evaluate AI-generated content using practical knowledge of drilling workflows and energy industry practices.
• Provide detailed feedback that improves AI understanding of drilling operations, well planning, and energy data systems.
• Use experience with the tools and processes used in day-to-day energy operations to develop and review expert training data.

• At least 2 years of professional experience in drilling, completions, or related energy operations.
• Experience as a Drilling Engineer, Completions Engineer, Well Cost Analyst, Drilling Superintendent, or an equivalent energy industry role.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following: WellView, SAP, ComboCurve, or AVEVA PI.
• Strong written communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams.

• Remote, part-time, flexible, asynchronous work.
• No minimum hour requirement. Contributors typically work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week while assigned to an active project.
• Project placement depends on current needs, and qualified applicants may be considered for future projects as they become available.

Up to $85/hr (depending on the project).
