Area Contracting Manager

About the Role Trane Technologies (Trane® and Thermo King) is hiring an Area Contracting Manager at its Richmond Commercial Sales Office. The role manages the contracting fulfillment process and supports the achievement of operational, financial, and customer service goals. Responsibilities Support the Regional Contracting Manager and Area General Manager in delivering business results and sharing department vision. Directly supervise contracting fulfillment Project Management and Technician personnel, conduct employee reviews, and ensure performance objectives are met. Partner with sales teams to discover and develop new opportunities. Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and staff. Review and validate contracts by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans. Review and validate estimates to ensure proper costs and constructability. Confirm Trane’s ability to meet project performance and financial requirements by analyzing customer and project data before accepting projects. Lead the safety team, establishing and maintaining a safety‑first work culture. Drive the financial performance of the business and meet financial commitments. Evaluate subcontractor performance and establish relationships with new subcontractors and vendors. Plan manpower to meet business needs and facilitate team growth and development. Collaborate with peer leaders on successful project execution. Maintain customer relationships and seek additional sales opportunities. Develop risk mitigation plans and lead project close‑out reviews. Own and account for the entire project portfolio from inception to completion. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of industrial and commercial HVAC systems, building automation systems, and performance contracting. Experience leading a team (preferred). Knowledge of contracting processes associated with installation of building automation systems, mechanical/HVAC systems, and performance contracting projects. Understanding of construction processes, including scheduling, project management, and resource planning. Driver’s license valid for a minimum of 12 months without major violations. OSHA10/30 certification (preferred). Contractor’s licenses preferred. Strong financial acumen for forecasting and contracting business performance. Salary Annual Base Salary Range: $117,673.33 – $164,675.00. Benefits Health insurance and holistic wellness programs starting DayOne.
