Summary You will serve as a Training Specialist in the Electrical/Electronics Shop (950), Production Resources Department Manager (901), Production Resources Department (900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. You will serve as a Training Specialist in the Electrical/Electronics Shop (950), Production Resources Department Manager (901), Production Resources Department (900) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Duties Help You will identify employee developmental needs to provide or arrange for training resulting in improved job performance. You will provide quarterly Continuing Training and Development Assessment drafts to the CTDL/ND/Director. You will brief senior level leadership on the progress achieved toward meeting strategic objectives. You will maintain comprehensive electronic files of Mechanic Training Folders to include training taken, attribute sheets, date started, date completed, proficiency rating for courses taken, JIT/FAM, RADCON Proficiency. You will establish metrics to identify material costs expended by each FY for Overhead Expenditures/Labor Expenditures monthly. You will communicate with other training codes who will support your Code/Shop with data. You will maintain balanced workloads by shifting work assignments, workers, or other resources to achieve the most effective work operations. You will maintain a database of Code/Shop CTD Proficiency Course Schedule on an annual basis. Requirements Help Conditions of employment Must be a US Citizen. You will be required to lift and/or carry up to 50lbs. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs. You will be required to climb ladders and scaffolding. You will be required to work in confined spaces. You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport. You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases. You will be required to distinguish between colors and shades of colors. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Experience conducting audits of shop trade/core tasks records and qualification records and qualification records for conformance with establish guidelines. Experience with determining the procurement, storage, and use of instructional materials and textbooks, audio-visual aids, training devices, and laboratory equipment. Experience with maintaining comprehensive electronic files of Mechanic Training Folders. Experience with knowledge of various training methods, procedures, devices, and resources to develop and maintain a broad knowledge of all phase for employee training and development.
