Shaver & Associates CPA LLC is a growing public accounting firm serving individuals and businesses throughout southeast Missouri. We are seeking an entry to mid-level Staff Accountant to join our team. This is a hybrid position based out of our Perryville, Missouri office, offering a blend of tax and accounting work across a diverse client base. What You Will Do

• Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
• Prepare quarterly payroll returns
• Prepare monthly and quarterly sales tax filings
• Perform monthly bookkeeping for multiple clients and prepare financial statements
• Calculate payroll
• Prepare W-2s and 1099s
• Complete workers' compensation audits
• Respond to client questions and IRS/state notices

What We Are Looking For

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online is required
• A degree in Accounting is preferred; a CPA or EA credential is a plus
• Relevant public accounting or tax preparation experience will be strongly considered in place of a degree
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple client engagements
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for direct client interaction

Schedule

• Full-time, hybrid (in-office and remote)
• During tax season: up to 55 hours per week available but not required
• Off season: 36 hours per week, with half-day Fridays
