Support Services Supervisor

Job Summary The Support Services Supervisor works closely with management to support the daily operations of the Environmental Services, Food & Nutrition Services, Linen Services, and Patient Transportation departments, ensuring optimal service delivery across patient care, food operations, transport, linen distribution, waste management, and pest control. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate all departmental personnel activities, including scheduling, counseling, performance evaluations, and human resource functions. Conduct regular rounds and inspections to maintain a clean and sanitary patient, visitor, and employee environment. Respond to dispatched service requests and resolve them in a thorough and timely manner. Coordinate departmental operations with other units to support patient and client needs, project work, and equipment moves. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards for linen distribution, food service, safety, and infection prevention. Implement and complete quality assurance activities, such as temperature records, sanitation inspections, and daily supervisory reports. Supervise meal service, tray line operations, and opening/closing checklists, ensuring proper portion control, serving temperature, and timeliness. Manage patient transport schedules and assignments, ensuring timely and safe patient transfers. Monitor safety and hygiene standards, working with the Safety Officer and Facilities Manager to maintain a safe environment. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external patients, families, and staff, meeting or exceeding service expectations. Lead performance improvement initiatives, including data collection, developing and evaluating improvement plans, and participating in department‑wide process enhancements. Assist with budget control, cost management, and revenue opportunities. Perform additional duties as assigned or required by departmental needs. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. 1–3 years of healthcare experience in Environmental Services, Linen, Food & Nutrition, and/or Transportation supervision or equivalent roles. Training or education in Health Care Management preferred. Demonstrated customer‑service skills and knowledge of floor‑care procedures, terminal cleaning, infection prevention, waste management, food and nutrition operations, patient transport procedures, and linen operations.
