AI Research Scientist, CoreML - Monetization AI Meta | Posted Mar 9 Full-time This position is within the Monetization Ranking AI Research organization, focused on delivering personalized ads that maximize user utility and advertiser value. The selected candidate will advance AI and ML technologies for Monetization, including ranking, retrieval, model architecture, and optimization. Responsibilities Develop and implement large‑scale model architectures, leveraging model scaling and transfer learning techniques. Prioritize training scalability and signal scaling to optimize model performance, efficiency, and reliability. Develop and apply NextGen sequence learning techniques for natural language processing and understanding. Design and implement generative modeling solutions for data augmentation. Research and develop graph‑aware large language models. Develop and deploy AutoML pipelines. Apply reinforcement learning techniques, including long‑term value optimization, RLHF, and RL4Reason. Use causal learning to identify cause‑effect relationships across data. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and optimize ML systems, leveraging hardware‑software co‑design expertise such as quantization, compression, and resource‑efficient AI to drive performance improvements. Develop innovative solutions for data‑related challenges, using techniques such as semi/self‑supervised learning, generative methods, sampling, debiasing, domain adaptation, continual learning, data augmentation, cold‑start, content understanding, and large language models. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. A Ph.D. in a relevant technical field is preferred. Experience as a researcher in industry, academia, or government. Research experience in natural language processing, large language modeling, deep learning, reinforcement learning, recommendations, ranking, search, or related areas. Published work in machine learning, artificial intelligence, or related fields. Proficiency in Python and hands‑on experience with frameworks such as PyTorch. Work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and ongoing authorization thereafter. Preferred Qualifications Experience taking research ideas to production. First‑author publications at peer‑reviewed AI conferences such as NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR, ICCV, or ACL. Strong problem‑solving skills, including evaluating alternatives and trade‑offs to determine a path forward. Compensation & Benefits $154,000/year to $217,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
