Substance Abuse Counselor

Civitas Health Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled and compassionate CSAC-S, LMHP, or LMHP-Eligible Practitioner with scope of practice to join our dynamic Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) . As a Practitioner, you will facilitate group therapy sessions for participants and work within a multidisciplinary team (assisting with Care Coordination) in our Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) ; delivering services under the ASAM Level 2.1 standard of care. Compensation Package Base salary range $50,568 - $62,250 based on experience Bonus Incentive Program You will be enrolled in our monthly performance-based incentive program, MAP (Motivation, Ambition, Progress). This point-based program allows you to earn up to $10,000 annually in bonuses, in addition to your base salary. Company Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short/Long-Term Disability, Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Essential Job Duties Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Perform intake assessments, diagnose individuals with mental health (MH), substance abuse (SA), intellectual disability (ID), and/or developmental disability (DD) diagnoses (based on credentials), and determine the appropriate level of care and service referrals. Provide Clinical Treatment: Deliver individual, group, family, and crisis intervention services to individuals with MH, SA, ID, and/or DD diagnoses, including facilitating Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) groups. Develop and Coordinate Treatment Plans: Develop person-centered treatment plans, complete ASAM multidimensional assessments, make appropriate referrals, and collaborate with internal and external providers to ensure coordinated, wrap-around care. Maintain Clinical Documentation: Complete accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, authorizations, and other required records while maintaining quality assurance standards. Collaborate with Community Partners: Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders, including social services, healthcare providers, legal representatives, probation/parole officers, and other community resources to support positive client outcomes. Job Qualifications Certification: State of Virginia licensure CSAC, CSAC-S, LMHP-E (with scope of practice), or LMHP (with scope of practice). Experience: 3+ years shaping lives in substance abuse services. Education: Minimum of Degree in human services, psychology, or similar. Expertise: Deep-rooted knowledge in ASAM criteria, substance abuse modalities, best practices, and cutting-edge rehab techniques. Assessment Skills: CSAC & CSAC-Supervisees: Conduct ASAM assessments.
