Lead Evening Cook

Waldorf University is seeking a full-time Lead Evening Cook to start the end of July 2026 . This position reports directly to Directors of Dining Services. This position follows the academic calendar (August-May). Summer catering opportunities are available based on operational needs.

Typical schedule is 40 hours per week over five days, with occasional six-day weeks during peak periods.

Specific Responsibilities & Skills include, but are not limited to:

• Lead evening cook will be responsible for general kitchen direction and execution of evening meal and next meal/day or catering prep including supervision of student production cooking staff.
• Provide clear communication and instruction to cooking staff. Must be self-motivated and focused. Able to work effectively with other dining and service staff for department needs. Must be dependable. Ability to provide proper on-going communication on inventory, ingredient or equipment needs, and prep areas to other cooking staff to maintain production and flow.
• Skill set includes menu preparation, ability to read and follow recipes, execute meal service, and manage production output and controls. Able to read, understand, follow, and set a good example of food and equipment safety, in addition to cleanliness protocols.
