We’re currently looking for a Part-Time After-School Nanny in Brooklyn, NY (11215)

A wonderful family in the Park Slope area of Brooklyn, is seeking a fun, energetic, creative, nanny to provide after-school care for their son, 3-4 days per week. The ideal candidate will enjoy being active and playful, while also helping keep the afternoon routine on track.

• Start Date: The week of September 10th (First Day of School 9/10)
• Schedule: 3–4 days per week
  • Monday–Thursday
  • Approximately 2:30 PM–6:00 PM
  • On occasion, one parent travels for work, so care may be needed until approximately 7:00–7:30 PM
• Length of Position: School-year position
  • Ongoing throughout the school year
  • Summers off
• Rate: $25–27 per hour
• 1 child: 7 year old, boy

Responsibilities

• Pick up from school and walk home (about 10 minutes).
  • The family is in South Park Slope/Gowanus, near the R line; the school is accessible via the R, F, and G lines.
• On occasion, visit nearby parks or playgrounds and engage in active play
• Provide an afternoon snack
• Accompany him to tutoring sessions or other scheduled activities as needed
• Provide consistent homework help and ensure homework is completed before parents arrive home
• Engage in creative and imaginative play, limiting distractions or screen time
• Help maintain a smooth and positive after-school routine

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Minimum of 2 years of paid childcare experience with school age children
• CPR certified or willing to obtain
• At least 2 references from paid, care-related experience
• Ability to successfully pass a background and social media check
• Non-smoker

Compensation + Benefits

This position pays $25–27 per hour for 3–4 afternoons per week during the school year.
