Position Overview We are hiring backend‑focused software engineers on the Prepared team at various levels. This hybrid role requires four days per week in our Manhattan office. As an early member of the team, you will tackle challenging engineering problems in audio/video processing and generative AI, and help shape the foundation of Prepared’s engineering culture. What You’ll Do Collaborate cross‑functionally to architect and launch new user‑facing features and products Design and drive initiatives to improve the availability and reliability of our backend systems Continuously improve engineering processes and tools that enable scale of the codebase and team Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers Travel occasionally to support customer deployments and onsite implementations What Makes You a Great Fit 3+ years of software engineering industry experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience Proficiency in or eagerness to learn our backend stack (Ruby on Rails, Golang) Experience with large‑scale distributed systems Desire to work in a fast‑paced dynamic startup environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience or enthusiasm for AI‑augmented software development workflows Benefits Competitive salary and 401(k) with employer match Discretionary time off Paid parental leave for all Medical, dental, vision plans Fitness programs Emotional and developmental programs Snacks in our offices Compensation Axon is a total compensation company. The starting base pay for this role ranges from $141,000 to $216,600USD, depending on level, function, training, experience, business needs, and geographic market. Base pay is combined with bonus and stock awards.
