Quality Inspector 2nd Shift

We are looking for a 2nd Shift Quality Inspector 4:00 pm – Midnight, Monday–Friday, at our facility located at 260 Duchaine Blvd, New Bedford, MA, 02745. The position reports to the Director of Quality Control and involves performing random sampling inspections, inspecting in‑process and finished products, and maintaining inspection paperwork. What you'll do: Perform random sampling inspections of all incoming, in‑process, and finished products to ensure 100% of quality requirements are met. Verify products after each changeover to ensure compliance with product requirements. Record and maintain all inspection information in the designated check sheet. Initiate a Non‑Conformance Report when a defective product condition is observed, including updating the required log for traceability. Follow up with the department personnel responsible for containment and resolution of the issue. Monitor the status of product on hold and work with the cross‑functional team to ensure timely disposition. Perform Layered Process Audits (LPA) to ensure all required process and product characteristics are complied with. Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to achieve site goals. Adhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions immediately. What you'll bring: Minimum of 2 years proven experience as a quality inspector. Good verbal and written communication skills. Keen eye for detail and a passion for results and a facts‑based approach. Familiarity with quality testing methods (e.g., vernier caliper, micrometer, hardness test, tension test). Experience working in an ISO 9001 Quality Management System organization. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Within 3 months, you'll: Complete the Atkore immersion program. Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore’s strategy. Gain an understanding of your team. Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns. Within 6 months, you'll: Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore. Plan, organize, and support QA programs. Achieve operational excellence, superior product, and customer satisfaction. Within 12 months, you'll: Perform UL and CSA required testing.
