Job Title Data Engineer II Location 95 Old Short Hills Road, West Orange, NJ 07052 Department ITS Research and Data Science Shift Day Status Full‑Time Pay Range $75,597 – $106,780 per year Job Summary The Data Engineer will serve as the Epic Cosmos Data Science Developer, responsible for providing subject‑matter expertise, acting as an honest broker, creating data assets, and producing auditable documentation for Epic Cosmos Data Science. Key Responsibilities Provide subject matter expertise related to Epic Cosmos. Act as an honest broker for Epic Cosmos Data Science. Create data assets within Cosmos Data Science for approved research. Provide auditable documentation for all related work. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Mid‑level experience as a data engineer, ETL developer, or in a similar role. Knowledge of SQL query language. Experience with data integration tools such as SSIS, Informatica, or similar ETL tools. Knowledge of data acquisition via API/REST/JSON, NoSQL, and RDBMS. Hands‑on experience with SQL, SSIS, and DBA‑related tasks. Preferred: Professional certifications in traditional database management and cloud platform certifications. Key Competencies Mid‑level experience working with databases and data management. Mid‑level knowledge of SQL, relational database design, and SSIS; Talend experience is a plus. Adaptability/flexibility to changing business needs. Critical thinking and open‑minded analysis. Dependability, ownership, and accuracy in work. Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills for fast‑paced environments. Initiative to recognize assignments and seek additional work. Interpersonal skills and clear communication with project leadership and subject matter experts. Willingness to learn new software and systems. Active listening and accurate information conveyance.
