Aurora Sewing Center is looking for a mechanically inclined person to join our Service Department. You don't need sewing machine repair experience — we will teach you. If you have experience working with tools, repairing small equipment, troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems, or simply enjoy fixing things, we'd love to meet you.

 

This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in a specialized trade with one-on-one mentoring and manufacturer training.

 

What You'll Enjoy:

• Starting wage of $22/hour.

What You'll Do:

As a Service Technician, you'll inspect, diagnose, repair, maintain, and test sewing and embroidery machines.

 

Every day is different. You'll work with:

• Precision mechanical components.
• Small electric motors.
• Gears and drive systems.
• Timing mechanisms.
• Electronic controls.
• Circuit boards.
• Computerized machines.

 

You'll use hand tools, diagnostic equipment, service manuals, and your problem-solving skills to return machines to like-new operating condition.

You do NOT need sewing machine experience.

• Copier or printer repair.
• Small circuit repair.
• Manufacturing maintenance.
• Electronics repair.
• HVAa.
• Mechanical assembly.
• Machine shop work.
• Military mechanical experience.
• Hobbyists who enjoy fixing mechanical or electronic equipment.

 

If you've always been the person friends and family call to fix things, we'd like to talk with you.

 

What You'll Need:

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read service information and follow procedures.
• Great communication skills.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.

 

Previous repair experience is helpful, but not required. We will train the right candidate.
