Industrial Valve Maintenance & Testing Specialist

About the RoleStep into a hands-on role where your mechanical know-how keeps critical refinery and industrial plant operations running smoothly. You’ll split your time between the shop and the field—supporting turnarounds, outages, and service calls—while repairing, maintaining, and testing relief, control, and manual valves from teardown through final certification.A Day in the LifeStart your day at 6:00am, review work orders and specs, set up test stands, and move straight into disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and calibration. You’ll document findings, coordinate scheduling and follow-ups, and head to customer sites when needed to complete on-site diagnostics and testing. Safety and communication are constant threads throughout your work—both with your internal team and with plant personnel.Schedule & PayShift: 6am–4:30pm (some overtime may be required)Pay: $18.00–$25.00/hr DOEWhat You’ll HandleComplete valve lifecycle work: diagnose, tear down, repair, reassemble, calibrate, and perform final testing of relief, control, and manual valvesInterpret work orders, specifications, and technical documentation to plan and execute jobs accuratelyOperate and maintain auxiliary testing equipment and tooling with precision and careConduct field service during plant turnarounds and outages, including on-site repairs and testingCoordinate job setup, scheduling, and follow-up to meet customer timelinesCommunicate professionally with customers and plant teams regarding status and technical findingsDrive and operate company vehicles and equipment responsiblyParticipate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule for emergency supportChampion safety and adhere to all plant and company proceduresQualifications2+ years as a valve technician or in closely related mechanical roles within refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or industrial plant settingsTurnaround/shutdown experience in refinery or plant environments strongly preferredDemonstrated mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and industrial equipment repair skillsConfidence in independently disassembling and rebuilding valvesValid driver’s license requiredAbility to pass physical, drug screen, and random testing requirementsWillingness to travel with overnight stays as needed (approximately 50% travel)High attention to detail, strong organization, and unwavering safety mindsetSelf-directed with the ability to maintain productivity under minimal supervisionClear, professional communication and customer service skillsBasic computer proficiencyHigh School Diploma or GEDPreferred BackgroundMachining experienceWelding or fabrication experienceMaintenance experience in power generation or petrochemical facilitiesHands-on work operating/testing pressure relief or control valve systemsCore ProficienciesMechanical troubleshootingMaintenance and repairMechanical assemblyMechanical systems and component repairBlueprint reading #J-18808-Ljbffr
