Shop Floor Assistant/Compression Tester

This is a hands-on opportunity to work in a dynamic performance engineering environment where precision and quality matter. If you love working with engines and want to grow your skills in a fast-paced shop setting, this could be the perfect fit! Responsibilities: Perform compression testing on engines to assess performance and identify mechanical issues Assist shop floor technicians with daily operations and engine build processes Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on the shop floor Handle and organize engine components, parts, and tools with care and accuracy Document and record compression test results and report findings to senior technicians Support quality control inspections throughout the production or rebuild process Operate and maintain shop equipment and testing tools in accordance with safety standards Requirements: Basic mechanical knowledge or hands-on experience in an automotive or engine shop setting Familiarity with compression testing procedures and diagnostic equipment is a plus Ability to follow detailed instructions and work accurately in a team environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy components, and work in a shop environment Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic High school diploma or GED preferred; technical or vocational training is a bonus About Us: Choate Engineering Performance LLC is a respected name in high-performance engine building and engineering, proudly serving customers from their facility in Bolivar, TN.
