Job Title: Electrical Tester

Job Description

This role focuses on troubleshooting, testing, and validating industrial transformers and control systems, with a strong emphasis on high-voltage dielectric testing and precision electrical measurements. You will work hands-on within control panels and electrical enclosures, ensuring that electrical components and systems meet performance and safety standards in a structured, technical testing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting and testing on industrial transformers, including high-voltage dielectric testing across various voltage levels.
  • Read and interpret electrical prints, blueprints, and schematics to guide testing and diagnostic activities.
  • Test electrical components and configure power supplies and generators to ensure proper operation and compatibility.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues in control systems and transformer units using systematic troubleshooting methods.
  • Conduct dielectric and control testing on transformers and related electrical equipment to verify insulation integrity and control functionality.
  • Work within control panels and electrical enclosures to test, validate, and document system functionality.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers to verify component dimensions and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Inspect electrical components and assemblies for quality, accuracy, and adherence to engineering requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members in a structured, team-oriented environment to share findings, support continuous improvement, and maintain high testing standards.
  • Follow established safety procedures and testing protocols when working with high-voltage systems and industrial equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting in an industrial environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, prints, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Hands-on experience testing electrical components and control systems.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage or dielectric testing.
  • Experience working with transformers or similar electrical equipment.
  • Ability to use precision measurement tools, such as micrometers, for component verification.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to technical testing tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively within a structured, team-oriented environment.
  • Comfort working on feet, climbing stairs, and handling large electrical equipment such as transformers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in inspection of electrical components and assemblies.
  • Experience in high-voltage electrical troubleshooting and testing.
  • Previous experience in a technical testing environment is highly desirable.
  • Military experience, especially in avionics or similar technical fields, is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a hands-on, detail-focused role.
  • Comfort working with control panels, electrical enclosures, and industrial power systems.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily on a second shift schedule, working Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Initial training takes place on first shift for approximately 8 to 12 months, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., to ensure thorough onboarding and skill development. The facility is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable and consistent work setting. The role is physically active, requiring you to be on your feet, climb stairs, and work directly on transformers and related equipment within an industrial environment that uses control panels, electrical enclosures, and precision measuring tools.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $62400.00/yr.
