Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Teaching Staff Endocrinology fellows’ clinic and endocrinologyconsultation service.Teach fellows, residents and medical studentsusing adult teaching methods that enhance and encourage activelearning and ongoing professional development. Complete students,residents and fellows evaluations. Participate in other endocrineeducational activities including resident didactic series, noonconferences, morning report, Endocrine and Internal Medicine GrandRounds, instruct undergraduate endocrine course and othereducational duties assigned by the department and service.
2. Research Participate in clinical and administrative researchaccording to skills, interest and funding. Provide mentoring andsupervision of fellows and residents in research and QIinitiatives. Research opportunities may include performanceimprovement initiatives or formal extramurally fundedinvestigations and participation may be as principle investigatoror co-investigator.
3. Service Work with institutional and administrative staff toattain the objectives of Virginia Commonwealth University and VCUHealth System including patient safety, customer satisfaction,maintenance and enhancement of public perception and fiscalhealth.
4. Clinical Provide excellent patient care in generalendocrinology and focused areas of interest and experience in bothinpatient and outpatient settings. Actively participate inmanagement of patients on endocrinology consult service.Joincolleagues in assuring service coverage 24/7/365.
5. Other (for instance administrative duties, etc.) Complypromptly with billing, documentation, credentialing and otheradministrative requirements of the department.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes andMetabolism
• The candidate must qualify for an appointment at the Assistantor Associate Professor level
• Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment ofrespect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty,staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or acommitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
