Schedule: 36 hours per week, Day Shift, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday

Role Overview

As a Clinical Support Nurse, you will provide essential clinical support at the unit level, ensuring high-quality patient care throughout their hospital stay. You will assist with direct patient care, coordinate bed utilization, and coach staff in clinical practice and customer service. Your role is vital in maintaining patient safety, rights, and overall satisfaction.

What You Will Do

• Assist with direct patient care, including admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Assess patient conditions and complete clinical tasks such as IVs and blood draws.
• Respond to clinical emergency situations and ensure patient safety and rights.
• Coach unit staff in clinical practice, critical thinking, and customer service skills.
• Coordinate bed utilization within inpatient hospital patient care units.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of relevant acute care nursing experience.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Michigan Nursing License.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted

Preferred

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
• ACLS certification.

Additional Information

Henry Ford St John Hospital's 1 East Neurology Unit is a 22 private bed Joint Commission Certified Stroke specialty intermediate care unit with telemetry capabilities. Specialized care of hemodynamically stable adult stroke patients includes patients that may require neuro-endovascular interventional and thrombolytic medication with concurrent cardiac complications. Nursing staff are skilled to administer titratable vasoactive and inotropic intravenous medications as well as antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, and thrombolytics. 

We are a closed unit who believe in caring for all of the patients not just the ones assigned to you. We have all private rooms with built in avasys (virtual safety monitoring) cameras in all of our patient rooms.
