Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed and supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identifies patient teaching needs and collaborates with patients and the interdisciplinary team.
• Documents all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record promptly and accurately.
• Participates in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on education based on the patient's identified health care needs.
• Initiates discharge planning and teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicates pertinent patient information to support continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provides direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while effectively prioritizing tasks.
• Promotes and ensures personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Contributes positively to team dynamics and creates a supportive work environment.
• Assumes charge responsibility as needed and actively participates in professional development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience preferred.
• Critical care experience strongly desired.

Schedule

This position requires a day shift, working 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.
