About the Position

Job Title: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 3 years preferred License: New York license required Certifications: CST Must-Have: CST required unless previously worked as a tech in New York prior to 2015. Epic experience is a hard requirement. Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility. Description: The role requires proficiency in general operating room skills. Experience with gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, and lap band procedures is essential. Familiarity with laparoscopic assisted cases is necessary. Knowledge of aortic aneurysm repair and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair is required. Skills in carotid angioplasty and carotid endarterectomy are important. Experience in endovascular aneurysm repair is needed. Competence in femoral popliteal bypass graft procedures is expected. Candidates should have experience in various laparoscopic assisted cases. Skills in direct laryngoscopy and radical neck dissection are needed. Experience with tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy and tracheostomy is required. Proficiency in appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and colon resection is necessary. Candidates should have skills in hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical) and mastectomy. Familiarity with thyroidectomy (partial/total) and anterior/posterior repair (colporrhaphy) is necessary. Experience in dilation & curettage and laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures is preferred. Competence in cervical cerclage and bilateral tubal ligation is important. Candidates should have experience with anterior cervical fusion and cervical fusions. Knowledge of craniotomy and insertion of VP shunt is required. Familiarity with laminectomy/discectomy and spinal fusion is necessary. Experience in total hip replacement and total knee replacement is important. Candidates should have skills in orthopedic robotic surgery and colorectal robotic surgery. Proficiency in da Vinci Xi Surgical System is preferred. Knowledge of mediastinoscopy and VATS is necessary. Experience in nephrectomy and prostatectomy is required. Candidates should be familiar with transurethral resection of the prostate and lithotripsy. Knowledge of ureteroscopy is preferred. Aseptic technique and management/lead experience are essential. Candidates should have knowledge of decontamination and sterilization processes. Experience with sharps safety, specimen handling, and labeling is required. Knowledge of universal protocol (time out) procedures is important.
