Take the next step in your professional journey as a full-time School Social Worker supporting middle school students through June 16th, 2027. This position plays a crucial role in fostering student well-being, collaborating with a dedicated team of educational staff, and making a difference in young lives. Located near Canton, MI, this contract role offers a supportive environment where your expertise is valued and your impact is significant.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Michigan School Social Worker certification
- Possess one of the following Michigan state Social Worker Licenses: LMSW, LLMSW, or LCSW
- Experience preferred in school-based or adolescent social work settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with school teams, students, and families
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
- Skilled in crisis intervention and developing individualized support plans
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social-emotional support to middle school students, addressing barriers to learning and promoting positive outcomes
- Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and support personnel to identify and address student needs
- Conduct assessments, develop intervention strategies, and monitor progress for students requiring additional support
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, guiding them through social services and school policies
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute expertise in student welfare and inclusion
- Support a positive school climate and promote mental health awareness
