Location: Houston, TX 77094

Starting   Pay Rate: $23.50 / Hourly + (Based on experience)

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:45 AM - 4:30 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced  Medical Assistant II to join a fast-paced, patient-centered  pediatric clinic in Houston, TX. This role is ideal for a compassionate and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality care to children and their families.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional patient care and customer service to pediatric patients, families, and visitors
• Support clinic flow by coordinating patient arrivals, managing schedules, and communicating delays or updates to staff and providers
• Assist with back-office duties including medication refills, prior authorizations, and durable medical equipment (DME) paperwork
• Prepare patients for visits by collecting vitals, updating medical history, and documenting in the EMR
• Support providers during procedures, including EMG testing, as needed
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding appointments, wait times, and care processes
• Monitor patient wait times and escalate concerns to leadership when necessary
• Facilitate translation services for patients and families when needed
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and ensure compliance with clinic and regulatory standards
• Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and workflow improvement initiatives
• Deliver service recovery support to ensure a positive patient experience

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience (pediatrics required)
• Experience with Rooming, Collections of Vitals, POCT, Testing, Managing Clinic Flows, Cross Coverage, etc.
• Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA, or equivalent)  or active EMT/Paramedic certification in Texas
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, patient care procedures, and managed care processes
• Experience with EMR systems and standard clinical equipment
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced setting
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
