Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Bronx, NY 10461
Department: Respiratory Therapy
Employment Type: 13-Week Contract (Possible Extension)

Schedule:

• 3 Days per Week
• 11.5-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• 34.5 Hours per Week
  

Pay rate: $62 - $65 per hour for local

Pay rate: $70 - $80 per hour for travel

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to deliver comprehensive respiratory care across adult, pediatric, neonatal, emergency, and critical care settings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise in respiratory assessment, treatment, and life-support management while working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

• Assess, treat, and monitor patients with cardiopulmonary disorders
• Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and airway management
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Respond to emergency and trauma situations requiring respiratory intervention
• Perform respiratory assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Monitor patient responses and document clinical outcomes accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to optimize patient care
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety protocols

Education:

• Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program

Experience:

• Minimum two (2) years of experience in:
  • Adult General Care
  • Pediatric General Care
  • Adult Critical Care
  • Pediatric Critical Care
  • Emergency/Trauma Care
  • Neonatal Care

Certifications & Licensure:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NBRC
• Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

• Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT/RFPT) Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification

• Strong knowledge of respiratory care and critical care procedures
• Proficiency in ventilator management and advanced airway techniques
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong patient assessment, clinical documentation, and care planning abilities

• 13-week contract with potential extension
• Day shift schedule (3x11.5 hours)
• Multispecialty respiratory care environment
• Requires strong clinical judgment and adaptability
