Behavior Specialist - $3,000 Retention Bonus Offered*

Location: Dutchess/Orange County, NY | Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt | Schedule: Monday - Friday

Greystone Programs is seeking a Behavior Specialist who is passionate about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and committed to improving the lives of people with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities. What You'll Do

\n
• Serve as the clinical leader supporting residential teams by coaching staff, developing behavior analytic interventions, and helping transform our programs into highly therapeutic environments.
\n
• Conduct ABA-based functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and observations in home and community settings.
\n
• Develop, write, and implement individualized Behavior Support Plans grounded in ABA methodology and positive, least-restrictive approaches.
\n
• Apply ABA techniques, including reinforcement strategies, discrete trial training, and antecedent-based interventions, to reduce challenging behaviors and build adaptive skills.
\n
• Collect, graph, and analyze behavioral data using ABA data collection methods to identify trends and refine treatment strategies.
\n
• Train and mentor direct support staff on ABA principles and Behavior Support Plan implementation.
\n
• Write and review semi-annual/quarterly psychological reviews and behavioral assessments.
\n
• Serve as an active member of the Interdisciplinary Team, collaborating with families, psychiatric/psychological consultants, and internal committees.
\n
• Ensure all interventions comply with OPWDD regulations.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention support.
\n

Success in this role means reducing restrictive interventions, increasing independence, improving community participation, and helping individuals achieve meaningful life goals.

What we seek:

• Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Applied Behavior Analysis + 1 year of supervised experience in a residential/community setting with individuals with I/DD; OR Bachelor's Degree + 4 years of related behavioral management experience with individuals with I/DD and;

• Demonstrated competency implementing evidence-based ABA interventions required.
\n
• Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and writing Behavior Intervention Plans.
\n
• Working knowledge of autism spectrum disorder and best practices in the I/DD field.
\n
• Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills.
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record systems.
\n
• Valid driver's license.
\n
