Assistant General Manager

Bouzy is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations, lead service execution, and help maintain a high standard of guest experience. This is a hands‑on management role with active floor presence, direct involvement in beverage operations, team leadership, scheduling, inventory oversight, and event execution. Wine knowledge is required, and the role includes regular service support and beverage ordering responsibilities. Core Responsibilities Operations Support daily FOH and BOH operations Help ensure service is organized, efficient, and guest-focused Uphold service, safety, sanitation, and recipe standards Ensure opening and closing checklists are completed Maintain organization and cleanliness throughout the restaurant Leadership and Team Development Provide clear direction and daily support to the team Assist with staff orientation, training, and ongoing development Coach team members on standards, execution, and accountability Provide constructive feedback to support performance improvement Assist with interviewing and staff selection Help maintain proper staffing levels and manage time‑off needs Scheduling, Labor, and Business Support Help write and manage FOH schedules Track daily labor performance and staffing efficiency Manage staff time to support productivity and avoid unnecessary overtime Support profitable operations through attention to labor, product, and equipment Attend weekly management meetings focused on operations and opportunities Beverage, Inventory, and Product Oversight Oversee FOH inventory and support periodic inventory processes Manage weekly beverage ordering, including beer and spirits Help ensure product and operational supplies are properly ordered and stocked Support accurate product execution and minimal waste Help communicate and implement pricing standards tied to profitable operations Guest Experience and Service Support Professionally handle guest inquiries, complaints, and compliments Recommend wine and perform wine service when needed Step into service‑support roles as needed, including bartender and expeditor coverage Help lead service in real time to maintain a strong guest experience Events and Cross‑Functional Support Support planning, coordination, and execution of on‑site and off‑site events Work with BOH leadership to support kitchen accountability Communicate equipment repair and replacement needs to leadership Candidate Profile We are looking for a hospitality operator who is comfortable leading from the floor, developing a team, managing details, and staying closely involved in service and beverage execution. The right candidate is organized, detail‑oriented, steady under pressure, and able to balance guest experience with operational discipline. Strong communication, accountability, and a hands‑on management style are essential. Preferred Experience and Qualifications Management experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting Strong floor leadership and service presence Experience with scheduling, labor tracking, and inventory oversight Beverage ordering experience Required wine knowledge and comfort with wine service Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience training, coaching, and developing staff Professional guest recovery skills Ability to support both regular restaurant operations and event execution Schedule and Role Reality This is a hands‑on operating role. The Assistant General Manager is expected to be present on the floor during service, support execution in real time, assist with wine service, and step into operational gaps when needed. The schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Closing The Assistant General Manager plays a key role in supporting the General Manager and helping Bouzy operate at a high standard across daily service, beverage execution, team leadership, and events.
