Position Description

Amcrete - Concrete Finisher

Summary: The concrete finisher effectively pours, places, and finishes concrete on a variety of surfaces with assistance from concrete laborers.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  1. Sets the forms to hold concrete in place
  2. Cleans and inspects surfaces for pouring issues
  3. Directs the casting of the concrete
  4. Pours, smooths, and levels concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed, including the use of handheld and/or power tools
  5. Monitors the effects of the weather on the curing process
  6. Applies sealing and hardening components
  7. Operates power vibrator to ensure the concrete is compacted
  8. Adheres to the company's safety policies to create a safe work environment
  9. Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

Amcrete - Concrete Finisher

Desired Qualifications/Skills:
  1. High School Diploma/GED
  2. Sufficient education or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and characteristics to perform duties of the role
  3. 10 Hour OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain within ninety (90) days of employment
  4. Must obtain proper training and certifications prior to operating equipment
  5. Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust
  6. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work
  7. Ability to use equipment and tools in a safe and efficient manner
  8. Must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  9. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
  10. Must have the necessary dexterity and fine motor skills
  11. Ability to work in an environment where the noise level is generally loud
  12. Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may at times require overnight stays away from home
  13. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  14. Must have a good work ethic, and the ability to understand and carry out written or verbal instructions
