Yard Supervisor

Position Overview Job Title: Recycling Yard Supervisor Reports to: Recycling Operations Manager Location: Staten Island, NY Hours: Nights with flexible days FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 Incentive Pay: Monthly and quarterly averages up to 20% above base salary. Job Summary The Yard Supervisor will oversee the safe and efficient transfer of material within a mill/recycling complex, including truck unloading, quality control, and inventory management. Responsibilities Supervise yard operations and staff during night shifts and flexible days. Coordinate truck unloading activities and ensure proper handling of recycled materials. Maintain accurate inventory records and perform quality control checks. Adhere to safety regulations and company policies. Apply reasoning to resolve standardized operational issues. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Excellent communication skills. Previous supervisory experience. Ability to work nights and flexible days. Experience with operators equipment (forklift, crane, payloader, roll‑off) and a mobile equipment license is a plus. Knowledge of equipment maintenance is a plus. May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other certifications. Physical Demands Stand, walk, and talk or hear regularly; use hands and arms frequently. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Perform tasks that require stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Work Environment Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, and vibration.
