Job Summary

At Socure, we are building mission-critical systems that power the future of digital trust. As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will be a key technical leader driving the design, scalability, and reliability of our backend platforms. With over a decade of engineering experience, including deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, you will influence product strategy, set technical direction, and mentor engineers while staying hands-on with complex backend challenges.

This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in high-growth, product-driven environments, has a passion for distributed systems, and wants to make a direct impact on how Socure delivers secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure.

What you'll do:

• Architect and Design scalable, resilient, and high-performance backend systems leveraging AWS cloud-native services.

• Develop and Deploy high-quality, production-grade Golang code that is efficient, secure, and maintainable.

• Lead Technical Initiatives across teams, providing mentorship, driving code reviews, and elevating engineering best practices.

• Collaborate Cross-Functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused solutions at scale.

• Own APIs and Microservices design, building RESTful and event-driven services that power distributed systems.

• Drive Reliability by implementing observability, monitoring, and incident response frameworks.

• Solve Complex Problems related to performance, scalability, and distributed computing.

• Document and Communicate architectural decisions, system design, and service ownership clearly for long-term scalability.

What you bring:

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 5+ years in product-based startups with proven execution in fast-paced environments.

• Deep expertise architecting large-scale systems on AWS, utilizing services such as ECS/EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, and S3.

• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven design patterns.

• Proficiency with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Demonstrated technical leadership, experience guiding teams, mentoring engineers, and leading large-scale projects.

• Strong focus on observability, reliability, and secure coding practices.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, and agile methodologies.
