We are seeking an experienced CPA to provide part-time support for our accounting, financial reporting, and tax-related needs.

Our accounting activity is relatively light, so this is not a traditional full-time or daily accounting position. We are looking for a reliable professional who can keep our financial records accurate and organized, prepare reports as needed, and manage or support our business tax preparation and filing requirements.

Position Details

● Schedule: Part-time

● Engagement: Independent Contractor (1099)

● Requirement: Active U.S. CPA license

Responsibilities

● Maintain and periodically review company accounting and bookkeeping records

● Manage the general ledger and confirm transactions are recorded and classified appropriately

● Prepare financial statements and management reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and other requested reporting

● Review financial activity for accuracy and investigate discrepancies or unusual items

● Compile financial information and supporting documentation for tax preparation and filings

● Prepare or assist with federal and state business tax returns and related filings

● Support year-end close, reporting, and tax requirements

● Provide accounting and tax guidance as questions or issues arise

Qualifications

● Active U.S. CPA license required

● 5+ years of accounting and tax experience preferred

● Experience supporting U.S.-based businesses

● Strong background in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and tax preparation

● Ability to work independently with limited supervision

● Highly organized with strong attention to detail

● Responsive and able to assist when accounting, reporting, or tax matters arise

● Experience preparing both business and individual tax returns is preferred

Additional Experience That Is a Plus

● Experience working with companies that have an international parent company

● Experience responding to tax notices or handling filings and correspondence with federal or state agencies

Expected Workload

This is a flexible, low-volume accounting engagement rather than a full-time finance position. The amount of work will fluctuate depending on the company’s reporting, accounting, and tax needs.

Some periods may require very limited support, while activity may increase around month-end, year-end, and tax filing deadlines.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable with this type of flexible arrangement and can be reasonably available when accounting or tax-related needs come up.
