Portfolio Manager

Opportunity Overview

Want a seat at the table where key business decisions are made? The Firm Portfolio Management Office (FPMO) partners directly with senior leadership to prioritize, coordinate, and deliver the firm's most critical initiatives. In this role, you'll influence strategic direction, connect teams across the organization, and help drive successful execution of transformational work. You'll serve as a trusted advisor, balancing business priorities, enabling informed decision-making, and helping teams focus on what matters most.
In this role, you will:

• Lead and develop a team of associates and contractors who will drive project execution, organizational change, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Manage a portfolio of strategic initiatives that support key business goals.
• Partner with senior leaders to deliver the enterprise epic that support the portfolio
• Responsible for portfolio stakeholder management
• Remove obstacles, manage risks, and keep the portfolio on track.
• Will follow lean portfolio management principles
• Use data and insights to measure success and guide decision-making.
• Communicate progress, results, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required
• 6+ years of relevant portfolio, program, or project management experience
• Expertise in Lean Portfolio Management and agile ways of working
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking to manage complex portfolios.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and build trust quickly across broad matrix teams
• Exceptional executive level communication skills
• Experience with enterprise project management or agile tools, plus knowledge of governance and financial processes

Preferred:

• 5+ years of leadership and business strategy experience preferred
• PMP or Agile certifications (Lean Portfolio Management) or equivalent experience preferred.

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.

Salary Information

Edward Jones' compensation and benefits package includes medical and prescription drug, dental, vision, voluntary benefits (such as accident, hospital indemnity, and critical illness), short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage. Short- and long-term disability, basic life, and basic AD&D coverage are provided at no cost to associates. Edward Jones offers a 401k retirement plan, and tax-advantaged accounts: health savings account, and flexible spending account. Edward Jones observes ten paid holidays and provides 15 days of vacation for new associates beginning on January 1 of each year, as well as sick time, personal days, and a paid day for volunteerism. Associates may be eligible for bonuses and profit sharing. All associates are eligible for the firm's Employee Assistance Program.
