Technical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead a team responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing an enterprise data environment supporting a high-visibility government customer. This role involves overseeing technical initiatives across software development, data engineering, and infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and experience managing software development teams. This is a technically focused leadership role rather than a traditional administrative or contract management position.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate a technical team supporting enterprise applications and data environments.
Serve as the primary liaison between government customers, technical teams, and stakeholders.
Oversee software development, infrastructure, data integration, and application maintenance activities.
Manage project priorities, deliverables, and technical requirements.
Collaborate with developers and engineers to resolve technical challenges and ensure successful project execution.
Support configuration management, software development processes, and technical documentation.
Communicate project status, risks, and progress to customer leadership.

Required Qualifications

Experience managing technical projects involving software development, data engineering, or IT infrastructure.
Strong understanding of software development processes and application architecture.
Experience leading or coordinating technical teams.
Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to engage in technical discussions and translate requirements between customers and engineering teams.
Experience working in Agile or similar development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous hands-on experience in software development, systems engineering, or data engineering.
Familiarity with ETL processes, databases, and enterprise data environments.
Experience with configuration management and web application development.
Experience supporting government or intelligence community customers.

Hands-on programming is not required, but a technical background and the ability to work closely with software developers and engineers are highly desirable.
