Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT

Responsibilities Operate company vehicles and provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick‑up of packages; check shipments for conformance to FedEx service features; provide coverage for all assigned routes within the station’s service area; provide related customer service functions; perform other duties as assigned. Position Details Full‑time (PM) Monday through Friday; hours are from 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Applicants may be required to cover multiple PM routes and may be required to assist the AM operation due to vacation coverage. Minimum Education High school diploma or GED. Minimum Experience Six (6) months of courier experience preferred; must demonstrate area knowledge. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver packages above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance. Good human relations and verbal communication skills. Thorough knowledge of the station’s service area preferred. Demonstrated adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods. Must be at least 21 years of age. Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs and communicate with traffic safety officials and official inquiries in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance. Job Conditions Neat appearance required for customer contact. Must meet and maintain the qualifications outlined in the federal motor carrier safety regulations. Requires a medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with state requirements for the assigned vehicle type and have a good driving record as outlined in policy. Non‑covered safety‑sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Preferred Qualifications No additional preferred qualifications listed.
