Dishwasher - Part-Time

Hyde Park Hospitality, in partnership with Hilton Chicago O'Hare Airport, is hiring a Part‑Time Dishwasher. Pay: $26.50 per hour. Responsibilities Operate the dishwasher to clean all dishes and cooking utensils used in kitchens, restaurants and banquets. Scrub pots and clear debris. Re‑stock all supplies in assigned areas. Perform general kitchen cleaning duties, including mopping floors and removing trash. Essential Functions 50% washes dishes and other cooking utensils; restocks clean glasses, silverware and plates. 30% performs general cleaning to maintain health department compliance. 10% stores food stock and dry goods in proper locations, rotating ‘first in, first out’. 5% removes trash from all containers and takes it to the dumpster on the loading dock. Supportive Functions Perform general/routine cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards. Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning up unexpected spills or executing special guest requests. Physical Requirements Activity: sitting rarely; walking constant; climbing stairs frequent; crouching/bending/stooping frequent; reaching frequent; grasping frequent; pushing/pulling frequent; lifting/carrying up to 50+ lbs; hearing constant; talking occasional; smell occasional; near vision constant; far vision constant; traveling never. Other Duties Demonstrate working knowledge of service standards. Maintain regular attendance in conformance with Hilton standards. Safety Requirements Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required for work duties that have a potential risk to your health or safety. The hotel will provide the required PPE and team members will be trained in its proper use and care. Report defective, damaged, or lost PPE or equipment that does not fit properly to your manager. Qualifications Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards. Knowledge of operating a dishwasher, floor stripper, and buffer. Ability to read, write, and speak English to read labels and communicate with teammates. Ability to work in confined spaces. Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges. Manual dexterity sufficient to load/unload the dishwasher and handle kitchen equipment, knives, slicing blades, etc. Education High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Experience Some work experience in a related field preferred; hospitality experience preferred. Licenses / Certificates Ability to obtain any government‑required license or certificate. Grooming / Uniforms All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well‑groomed appearance. Specific uniform guidelines and required articles of clothing will be explained during the orientation process.
