Help Desk Intern

Responsibilities Provide first‑line response for users requiring assistance with information technology issues and problems. Respond to requests for technical assistance by phone, e‑mail, and/or using a help‑desk management system. Track issues to resolution, updating the internal knowledge base and communicating findings with relevant business units. Escalate more involved problems to the appropriate Tier2 and Tier3 support teams. Act as a liaison between customers and technical escalation teams. Learning Opportunities Windows Desktop and Server operating systems: WindowsXP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and Windows2003/2008/2012 servers. Active Directory and Microsoft Lync. Exchange 2003, 2007, and 2010. Office 2003, 2007, 2010, and 2013. VMware backup solutions. Firewalls and network switching. Remote monitoring and support. Equipment recycling. Telephone, written and verbal communication, organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills. Compensation and Schedule This internship pays $18 per hour for a minimum commitment of 16–20 hours per week. A flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, is available to accommodate school schedules.
