Adolescent Psychiatrist Locums Job in Tennessee Monday-Friday 10/19/2026 - 1/22/2027 Assignment

October 19, 2026 - January 22, 2027, with potential extension available
Reason for vacancy: current provider relocating

Shift Details
8 hours per day, 5 days per week
Monday-Friday schedule
On-site coverage only; no telehealth
On-call coverage required one night per week

Requirements
Board certified or board eligible
Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist or General Psychiatrist willing to see adolescent patients (ages 13-17)

Required Procedures / Skills
Completion of psychiatric evaluations and discharge summaries initiated by NP
Restrictive intervention orders
Admission and discharge orders
Treatment team attendance with NP providers

Assignment Details
Adult Inpatient, Adult Detox Inpatient, Older Adult Inpatient, and Adolescent Inpatient services
Outpatient programs include PHP and IOP for adults and IOP for adolescents
Current medical staff includes 4 full-time psychiatrists, 3 full-time PMHNPs, and 4 PRN psychiatrists
Average daily census: 95-110
Average length of stay: 7.8 days
Bed count: 130
Total encounters per day: 16-18
New patients per day: 4-6
Follow-up visits per day: 12-16
30 minutes allotted for new patient evaluations
10-15 minutes allotted for follow-up visits
Attending responsibility for up to 44 patients with support from 2 APRN/PMHNP providers
Supervision responsibility for up to 32-34 patients
Independent management of approximately 14-18 cases
Typical patient diagnoses include suicidal behaviors, depression, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, and PTSD
Support staff includes PMHNP providers, social work team members, nursing staff, psychiatrists, and admin support
