Working Conditions

Positions at the Water Boards may be eligible for telework with in-person attendance based on the operational needs of the position .

In accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and GC 14200, the successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.  Proof of residency may be required.

Salary Information - CalHR salary rules allow appointment at the entrance rate (Cal. Code Regs., tit. 2, § 599.673) of a classification. For classes with alternate ranges, placement is based on education/experience. Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Database Management Experience.
• Customer Service Experience.
• Records Management Experience
• Experience interpreting laws, rules and regulations.
• Analytical and/or Policy Development Experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint.

Statement of Qualifications (SOQ)

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted along with the State Application and serves as documentation of candidate’s ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing. It should be typed, no more tha n one (1) page in length, using Arial 12pt font , and normal margins.

Indicate your total years of experience and provide examples when answering the following statements/questions:

1. Describe your experience in database management. What databases have you used? Describe at what capacity you used the databases.  (Example: data entry into databases only, creation of databases, etc.)
2. Describe your experience identifying a process deficiency or program inefficiency. How did you analyze the root cause, and what solution did you propose and implement?
3. Tell us about a time when you had to manage multiple high-priority tasks with overlapping deadlines. What tools or strategies did you use to organize your workload and ensure accuracy?
