Hydro Vac Operator

Insight Global is looking for a Hydro Vac Operator to support underground telecom and utility construction projects. This individual will be responsible for operating hydrovac equipment to safely excavate and expose underground utilities prior to drilling or construction activities. The Hydro Vac Operator will assist crews by potholing utilities, maintaining a safe job site, and ensuring proper excavation techniques to prevent damage to existing infrastructure. This role requires working in outdoor environments and coordinating closely with field crews to support HDD and installation operations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating heavy equipment, following safety protocols, and performing physical labor in various weather conditions. Strong communication, safety awareness, and attention to detail are critical for success in this role.

Required Skills & Experience
- Experience operating hydrovac or similar excavation equipment in underground utility environments
- Experience working in telecom, construction, or utility field operations (potholing/exposing utilities)
- Valid Class A CDL


Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience supporting HDD crews or fiber optic installation projects
Familiarity with utility locating, potholing, or reading utility maps/prints
Previous experience operating additional heavy equipment (mini excavator, skid steer, or trenchers)
