Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Cerner or Epic EMR proficiency.

Details

• 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week starting at 7:00pm
• Level II Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center designation
• Adult general and critical care patient population throughout the hospital, with NICU patients for NICU RT positions
• Patient ratios dependent on staffing
• Uses Cerner EMR, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors
• Ventilator equipment includes PB 840, PB 980, Drager VN500, LTV, and Airvo
• Floats to any like unit or patient location, with NICU therapists also working with adults
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Voluntary on-call schedule

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required, first-time travelers considered with this experience level
• BLS required, NRP required for NICU positions
• ACLS/APLS preferred
• RRT preferred, CRT considered with at least 2 years of experience
• Cerner or Epic EMR experience required
• NICU positions require ground transport experience, Nitric Oxide administration skills, and transport experience preferred
• Level III NICU experience within the past 12 months required for NICU positions
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across adult general and critical care units, or NICU depending on position
• Orientation includes 24 hours of classroom time and 24 hours on the unit for new or returning travelers absent 1+ years
• One major and one minor seasonal holiday coverage required per policy
• Up to 7 days of time off can be pre-approved excluding blackout dates
• Scrubs of any color accepted except bright or neon colors
• Free parking available in parking deck
• Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
