Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in a progressive care unit. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking abilities and possess the necessary experience in critical care settings. This role will require the nurse to effectively manage patient care, perform critical procedures, and collaborate with healthcare teams.

Scheduled Details

• 12-hour Night Shifts: 1900-0730
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Critical Care/ICU or Emergency Department
• Experience with BiPAP, chest tubes, PICC lines, and drawing of labs
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, including calling on own consults and conducting codes
• Preferred experience with open-heart patients on Day 2 or Day 3 post-procedure, including knowledge of pacer wires
• Patient-to-nurse ratios are a maximum of 3:1 or 4:1

Licensure/Certification Requirements

• Kansas RN License or Compact RN License
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications required

Floating Requirements

Must be willing to float to ICU and all inpatient units, including Med/Surg, Med/Tele, Acute/Tele, and ED, with prior experience.

Weekend Requirements

Work every other weekend is required.

Holiday Requirement

Flexible to work holidays as necessary based on unit needs.

Orientation Requirements

• Attend the first 2 days of orientation at the designated campus
• Day 3: Participate in Olathe orientation and Director of Nursing training
• Day 4: Continue with Olathe Director of Nursing training
• Day 5: Complete virtual Epic training

Additional Notes

• This is a nicotine-free facility.
• Orientation consists of 8 hours of non-billable time.
• Current EMR system is EPIC.
• We operate on a bi-weekly pay period.
• Cancellation policy allows for one canceled shift per 2-week pay period without cost to the organization or pay to the nurse, with a minimum 2-hour notice required.
