Staff Nurse - RN - Behavioral Health - Geriatrics/4South- Day/Evening - Rotating

Location: White Plains, New York Shift: Rotating (United States of America) Responsibilities Work on a 23‑bed geriatric psychiatry unit treating patients 60 years of age and older. Assume care for patients with varying degrees of mental ability, providing assistance with activities of daily living and, where needed, complete physical care. Manage common patient behaviors, including agitation, physical or verbal aggression, depression, withdrawal, and psychosis. Address medical problems that complicate or worsen psychiatric conditions in older adults. Provide full‑time day/evening rotating shifts: three 12‑hour shifts with an additional eight hours bi‑weekly, from 7am to 11:30pm, and coverage every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Maintain an average length of stay of approximately 12 days. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care. Qualifications At least 1 year of previous inpatient Med‑Surg nursing experience. Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Current New York State RN license. BCLS certification. Knowledge of the nursing process: social, behavioral, biological, and physical science. Understanding of the current health‑care environment. Basic customer‑service principles. Effective interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency with computer applications. Ability to analyze patient care data for evaluation and improvement.
