Network Architect

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or an associates degree with 15 years of experience, or 20 years of experience with a high school diploma and related background.
• We need strong knowledge of Arista, Aruba, Plexxi, F5 load balancers, and Dell networking equipment.
• We expect familiarity with STE/STN requirements, STIG/security mandates, and Nessus Security Center.
• We require experience with hardware-independent networking technologies such as hypervisor networking platforms.
• We need familiarity with network monitoring and automation tools such as CloudVision, MFNA (Microfocus network automation), and WhatsUp Gold.
• We seek the ability to evaluate, recommend, and critically review network and network service designs, maintenance approaches, and implementation plans based on customer needs and technical insight.
• We require the ability to advise non-technical administrators and program managers, including executive stakeholders, on network services.
• We expect the ability to assess program and technical needs and recommend suitable hardware, software, and service solutions.
• We require a current and active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, maintained throughout employment.
• We need the ability to meet physical demands including sitting in a stationary position for part of the day and communicating effectively with coworkers, leadership, customers, and in presentations.

• We implement and maintain software-defined networking and hardware-agnostic networking solutions, including hypervisor-based platforms.
• We serve as an assistant architect for new network systems and topologies, translating customer needs, security constraints, and environmental limitations into effective network designs.
• We design, plan, and oversee the deployment of voice, data, and video communication infrastructure, including switches, routers, gateway systems, and functional servers.
• We troubleshoot network issues and apply corrective actions to prevent or resolve problems across multiple environments, including remote sites and international links.
• We help establish and enforce security procedures that reduce the impact of intrusions, attacks, and other external incidents.
• We conduct site surveys and gather customer requirements to support complex network design, implementation, and problem-resolution efforts.
• We provide advice and guidance to IT peers, subordinates, and stakeholders on complex network design, monitoring, maintenance, and implementation.
• We coordinate and integrate the work of other IT professionals and contractors on projects of varying scale and complexity.
• We research techniques and strategies used by other organizations and professional communities to inform our network practices.
• We stay current on relevant forums and emerging issues, and we share useful technical insights with colleagues.
