Job Title

Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Location

Utica, NY | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Overtime shifts of 48 hours may be available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate care nursing for adult patients (18+) in a 64-bed IMCU, including 15 designated Neuro beds
• Manage a diverse patient population with diagnoses including Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory (COPD), DKA, Sepsis, MI, CV Stepdown, and post-operative cases
• Operate and monitor specialty equipment including temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and Neptune Vapo systems
• Provide care for patients on chronic ventilators (unable to wean) in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy
• Float to other units as required
• Document and maintain accurate patient records using EPIC EMR

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License (verified via NURSYS report required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in IMCU/PCU setting
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Up-to-date resume documenting IMCU/PCU experience and any travel nursing experience
• Local candidates are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with specialty equipment such as temporary pacers, chest tubes, arterial lines, and BiPAP
• Background in Neuro, Cardiac, or Trauma intermediate care settings
• Prior travel nursing experience
