Department: 01220 GCMG Mooresville Internal Medicine - Internal Medicine Status: Full time Benefits Eligible: Yes Hours Per Week: 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information: Monday through Friday 7:00a-5:00pm. Clinical staff work 4 days per week Pay Range: $22.90 - $36.15 Major Responsibilities Prepares and rooms patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting or updating pertinent health information. Performs laboratory procedures (e.g., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection) using principles of aseptic technique. Assists physician/provider with procedures and surgeries such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, colposcopy. Administers medications under physician/provider orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, pain meds, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin. With limitations, initiates, maintains and discontinues IV therapy. Provides basic patient education on tasks, skills, treatment and self-care; follows through with necessary procedure requests, prescription refills, new appointment times and referrals. Communicates with physicians and other members of the health‑care team and documents accurate patient information. Performs advanced clinical tasks such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, laboratory procedures, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care with competency under supervision. Organizes and prepares exam rooms, labs and work areas; cleans, stocks, orders supplies and maintains equipment. Completes routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using proper techniques. Participates in patient‑centered initiatives, care management, performance and quality improvement activities. Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 45 days unless determined otherwise. Education Required Completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing. Experience Required No experience required. Knowledge, Skill & Ability Requirements Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; ability to develop rapport and maintain positive professional relationships. Excellent organization, prioritization and problem solving skills. Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, Windows OS navigation, and use of electronic medical records systems. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the day. Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist; 20 lbs over the head; carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. Push/pull with 30 lbs of force; perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with second person present. Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids hazards; required protective clothing and equipment to be worn.
