Job Title: General Laborer

Pay: $18-20/hour

Shift: M-Th 6:00AM-2:30PM, F 5:00AM-1:30PM

Job Description

As a General Laborer, you will support production operations across various machines, assist with machine setup and operation, maintain quality standards, and ensure a safe and efficient work environment. This position offers a clear career path, with the opportunity to advance into a Machine Operator role upon successful training, demonstrated performance, and permanent hire status. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, hardworking, team-oriented, and possesses a strong willingness to learn, grow, and support the team and production goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist Machine Operators with the setup, operation, changeovers, and shutdown of manufacturing equipment.
• Learn to operate multiple machines and production lines throughout the facility.
• Support production activities by loading materials, removing finished products, and monitoring equipment performance.
• Perform quality checks to ensure products meet company and customer specifications.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and best practices at all times.
• Work closely with operators, supervisors, and team members to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
• Read and follow work orders, specifications, and production instructions.
• Assist with troubleshooting minor equipment issues and notify maintenance or supervision when necessary.
• Cross-train on various machines and production processes to become a versatile member of the operations team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous machine operator experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting mindset.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required up to 50 lbs.
• Strong attendance, reliability, and work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Schenectady, NY.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
