Staff Accountant

$85,000–$95,000 Base + Bonus Potential The Opportunity Propel Recruitment is partnering with a growing, privately held real estate organization in San Francisco to identify a Staff Accountant for its accounting team. This is a strong opportunity for an accountant who wants to move beyond purely transactional work and gain broader ownership of the monthly accounting cycle. You’ll work across a multi-entity real estate portfolio with responsibility for bank reconciliations, general ledger activity, month-end close, revenue reconciliation, and financial reporting. The company continues to grow and invest in its accounting infrastructure, giving this person exposure to process improvements, technology, and automation in addition to the core accounting responsibilities. The original position specifically emphasizes broader property accounting exposure and participation in improving accounting processes and efficiencies. What You’ll Do Own monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities Support the month-end close process and ensure assigned entities are closed accurately and on time Reconcile bank activity to the general ledger and supporting revenue information Research and resolve discrepancies, unusual transactions, and outstanding items Prepare and post journal entries and accounting adjustments Review general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness Assist with property-level financial reporting and monthly reporting packages Work with Yardi and other accounting/property management systems Participate in technology and automation initiatives designed to improve accounting processes Identify opportunities to create greater efficiency as the portfolio continues to grow These responsibilities reflect the client's stated emphasis on reconciliations, GL accounting, close, reporting, Yardi, and automation. What We’re Looking For Accounting experience with a solid foundation in bank reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and month-end close Experience working across multiple entities, locations, properties, or bank accounts Real estate or property accounting experience is preferred Yardi experience is a plus Ability to independently research and resolve reconciliation issues Detail-oriented with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and a high volume of activity Someone who takes ownership and is comfortable in a growing, evolving environment Why Consider It?
