Job Summary

 

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and energetic Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide high-quality treatment and intervention services to individuals with communication, articulation, and language disorders. You will play a crucial role in implementing individualized therapy plans, tracking patient milestones, and empowering clients to reach their full potential. The position is W-2 and will start at 20-25 hours weekly with the opportunity to increase to 35+ hours weekly with 80% utilization and 20% of hours weekly for note writing, prep/planning, and other duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Deliver Direct Therapy : Implement individualized treatment plans and protocols designed by the supervising SLP.
• Track Daily Data : Document client progress, compile data, and maintain accurate clinical or educational records.
• Prepare Materials : Create, organize, and adapt engaging therapy materials and games tailored to individual client needs.
• Collaborate with Families : Provide guidance to parents, caregivers, and teachers to encourage the carryover of therapy goals at home.
• Maintain Workspace : Clean, organize, and manage inventory for treatment rooms and therapy equipment.
• Admin Support : Assist the supervising SLP with clerical tasks such as scheduling, record-keeping, and billing entries

 

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Education : Associate degree from an accredited SLPA program, or a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
• Licensure : Current state SLPA License/Registration (or immediate eligibility to obtain one).
• Certification : ASHA SLPA Certification is highly preferred.
• Clinical Experience : Completion of required supervised clinical fieldwork hours.
• Core Skills : Strong interpersonal communication, active listening, and exceptional organizational skills.
• Technical Savvy : Proficiency with therapy tracking software, electronic documentation tools, and basic office applications.
• Safety : Current CPR/First Aid certification and Fingerprint Clearance Card

 

Key Skills & Competencies (Preferred)

• Adaptability : Ability to pivot techniques mid-session based on a client's focus, behavior, and energy levels.
• Specialized Experience : Prior experience working with children with developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
