POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, the Sales Manager is a results-driven professional who will support growth through sales programs, customer relationship development, and new business prospecting across Balfour & Co.'s full product portfolio.

This role requires a customer-focused professional with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, capable of managing multiple priorities while delivering exceptional service. Prior sales experience is preferred but not required, and experience within the educational market is a plus. Success requires a blend of: sales execution, customer partnership, event logistics coordination, and strong Excel and PowerPoint skills. This position requires travel of at least 25% of the time to support customer meetings, events, and territory coverage.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

Sales Strategy & Execution

• Support and execute sales strategies to help achieve regional and organizational sales goals.
• Apply structured selling protocols, including call planning, pipeline management, and reporting.
• Travel to customer sites, trade shows, and events up to 25% of the time to support sales execution and relationship building.

Customer Relationships & Service

• Collaborate with customers to assess and anticipate evolving needs.
• Address pricing and service delivery issues to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
• Build and sustain long-term, profitable relationships through tailored customer engagement.

Events, Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Support the planning and coordination of sales initiatives and track key performance metrics.
• Prepare regular, data-driven updates for senior leadership using Excel and PowerPoint.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings with related areas, such as marketing, operations, and product, to align sales efforts with broader business goals.
• Support strategic initiatives and other responsibilities as assigned by the CSO.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree or higher education is preferred.
• 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in sales with exposure to both employee and independent rep sales structure.
• Demonstrated experience in building long-term customer partnerships and driving sales execution.
• Must be willing and able to travel approximately 25% of the time, including customer visits, industry events, and territory coverage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting), PowerPoint, and other computer/Office tools.
• Comfortable delivering sales presentations and business updates to senior leaders.
• Participate in building sales plans aligned with corporate objectives.
• Provide consistent follow-up with customers and prospects to support sales execution and retention.
• Customer-centric, hands-on, and action-oriented, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced, changing environments and a demonstrated commitment to the highest level of ethics and integrity.
