The Role

We're looking for a Senior Retail Sales Supervisor to lead the floor at our Southampton store. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll set the standard for how håndværk shows up with every customer, run the day-to-day of the store, and develop the team underneath you. You report to store leadership and work closely with the Southampton warehouse team, since Southampton is also håndværk's central hub for fulfillment, wholesale, and supply to both stores.

This is a role for someone who has sold — and led sales teams — in a considered, product-first environment. You know the difference between pushing product and educating a customer on why a garment is worth its price.

What You'll Do

• Own daily sales floor operations: staffing, scheduling, and setting the pace for the team
• Lead by example on the floor — model the clienteling and product knowledge standard for the team
• Coach, train, and develop sales associates; give real-time feedback that sticks
• Own store sales targets and report on performance to founders/store leadership
• Build and maintain relationships with repeat clients — Southampton has a loyal, seasonal clientele that expects to be known
• Partner with the warehouse team to keep inventory, replenishment, and stockroom flow seamless between the store and the warehouse
• Uphold visual merchandising and store presentation standards
• Step in on operational and customer resolution issues as the senior presence on the floor

What You Bring

• 3+ years in a sales leadership role (Supervisor, Assistant Manager, or similar) at a comparable premium or luxury contemporary brand — think Vince, Theory, Rag & Bone, James Perse, Nili Lotan, or Peter Millar
• A track record of hitting sales targets and developing a team, not just selling individually
• Genuine comfort with product-led, education-based selling — not high-pressure retail
• Highly organized, hands-on, and a strong communicator across store and warehouse teams
• Available to work a retail schedule, including weekends and the Southampton summer season

Not for You If

• You're looking for your first retail job, or your first role with any supervisory responsibility
• Your experience is mostly mall, big-box, or fast-fashion retail rather than premium/luxury contemporary apparel
• You prefer high-pressure, commission-driven selling over an unhurried, product-education approach
• You're looking for a purely individual-contributor sales role and don't want to manage or coach a team
• You need a fully remote or corporate-office role — this is a hands-on, on-the-floor position in Southampton

Schedule & Compensation

This role is open to both full-time and part-time candidates.

• Pay range: $27–$32 per hour, commensurate with experience. håndværk is an independent, founder-led brand; we're upfront that our compensation is built for our scale, not a heritage luxury house's budget.
